The Lancers 2011-12 season came to a close with a 50-59 loss in Game 2 of sub state vs. Blue Valley Northwest. The Lancers finished the season 12-10 and posted their first winning season since ’08-’09.

Lancers win BIG in 1st Sub State Game

Seeking some revenge against a team that prevented them from going to last year’s state tournament, the Lancers played an all-around solid game tonight, beating BVW 55-47. The Lancers had 7 players contribute points with Wentz leading the charge with 17. Next up, BVNW @ BVN on Saturday night, 7:45 p.m. GO LANCERS!!

Lancers Lose in OT vs. South

Despite having 3 players in double figures, Wentz (24), Schneider (17) and Hiett (10), the Lancers hard-fought battle vs SMS this past Friday, ended in a 63-68 defeat. The Lancers take an 11-9 record into sub state this Thursday vs Blue Valley West @ BVW. Game time is 7 p.m.

49-47 OT Win for the Lancers!

Scoring 8 of his 10 points in overtime, Andy Hiett led the way for the boys’ OT win over Lawrence Free State. The win brings the Lancers record to 11-8 on the season and guarantees them a winning season for the first time since ’08-’09. Zach Schneider led the Lancers with 19, while Hiett and Chase Hanna finished with 10 each. Next up, SMS @ South this Friday night for the last game in the regular season.

Big Win on Senior Night

The Lancer posted a nice win against SMN, 63-44, on the night they celebrated their 4 seniors. Senior Chris Heady helped lead the Lancers to a 22 point 1st quarter with a big 3 point shot and several rebounds. Fellow seniors, Andy Hiett (11 pts.), Henry Simpson (5 pts) and Alex Schoegler (o pts) all had solid games. The Lancers record for the season is now 10-8.

The seniors last home game will be this Tuesday night, February 21st against Lawrence Free State.

Come see the four Varsity seniors play one of their last home game at SME, tonight, 7p.m., vs SMN. The players, Chris Heady, Andy Hiett, AlexSchoegler and Henry Simpson, will be honored, along with their parents, in a pre-game ceremony.
